The company Ponthier was founded in France in 1946. André Ponthier and his wife started trading in fruit at that time, and they also grew raspberry bushes, mulberry and apple trees on their own land. At the beginning, the fruits were distributed locally, but the company soon expanded its market.

Among other things, André Ponthier invented a process to make chestnuts last longer. The chestnuts were vacuum-cooked for this purpose and were thus able to survive even longer transport routes. A good new storage method was also developed for fruits and berries. Thus, from 1986 onwards, it was possible to buy frozen berries from the region at Ponthier. The company was then taken over by Yves Ponthier, but he too was very inventive and so further innovations followed.

in 1993, the still very well-known Ponthier frozen purees came onto the market. These were extremely popular and even won several prizes. These included, for example, the "Bol dˋOr Interglace" and "Maison de la Qualité". Shortly afterwards, the production was refined so that the fruit purees could now also be kept refrigerated and not frozen for a long time.

In addition to product development, the expansion of the market naturally continued. Today, Ponthier is represented all over the world and supplies its high-quality products to resellers and confectioners. Today, the range includes fruit purees, vegetable purees, coulis and, of course, vacuum-cooked chestnuts.

At miniSchoggi you will find the excellent fruit purees from Ponthier. These can be used in an incredible variety of ways. At our courses we use the fruit purees for cakes, patisserie, ice cream and pralines. The fruit purees are sold in one-kilogram units and are shipped refrigerated when ordered online. Usually, you don't need a whole kilo of the puree right away, but that's not a problem. All fruit purees from Ponthier consist of at least 90% pure fruit, with a few varieties having a little sugar added to allow direct use without the need for sweetening.

Such pure fruit juice can be defrosted and frozen several times without any problems. We therefore recommend portioning the puree. When you receive your order, the fruit puree is chilled but already thawed; if you buy it locally, it is best to leave it in the fridge overnight. Sealed, it can be kept in the fridge for up to a year. Once opened, it should be used or frozen within two weeks. Prepare small bowls or freezer bags and pour in a quantity that suits you. This will freeze the portions and defrost them for the next use. Always remember to label the containers so you don't forget what's inside or when it was frozen.

Fruit puree is perfect for delicious fruity or berry desserts. For example, make delicious fruit ice cream. Mix water or yoghurt with the fruit puree. Taste in between and add as much puree as you like best.

The ice cream will be especially delicious if you add some suitable pieces of fruit. For example, you can create a delicious mango ice cream with pieces, a honeydew melon water ice cream or a creamy wild berry ice cream. You can then fill the mixture into small cups or ice cream moulds. In the miniSchoggi online shop you will find various moulds for popsicles and even small animal moulds. Put the mixture into the freezer. Just a few hours later you can enjoy the icy refreshment!
