Recipe for homemade iced tea

Your party is coming up and you want to serve your guests a delicious drink? Then we have the perfect recipe for you for homemade iced tea. You will need the following ingredients:

500 g water (part 1)

20 g Ceylon black tea

250 g water (part 2)

8 g peppermint herbs

3 g lime blossom

4 cloves

2 organic lemons (juice and zest)

75 g honey

250 g cane sugar

This is how it works:

1. bring the water (part 1) to the boil in a large pan.

2. when the water is boiling, turn off the heat, add the Ceylon black tea, cover and leave to infuse for 5 minutes. For a more intense black tea flavor, you can also leave the tea to infuse for longer. However, the longer the tea steeps, the more bitter it becomes.

3. after the 5 minutes, pour the tea through a sieve into a large container such as a bowl or similar.

4 Then boil the second part of the water in a new pot. As soon as the water boils, you can turn off the hob and add the fresh or dried peppermint herbs, lime blossom, cloves and lemon peel.

5 It is best to peel the lemons with a peeler to obtain larger pieces. The lemon juice will only be needed later. Now leave the whole thing to stand for 5-10 minutes.

6 Pour this through a sieve and mix it with the black tea.

7. mix the honey and cane sugar together in a bowl, add the hot tea mixture and the lemon juice and stir.

8. if the tea is no longer hot enough to melt the sugar crystals, you can heat it again until the sugar has dissolved.

9. then pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a liter bottle and chill.

10. now you have made an intense tasting syrup. To make a delicious iced tea, pour 1-2 cm of the syrup into a glass and then top up with cold water and ice cubes. The syrup is sufficient for approx. 20-30 portions. The syrup can be kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
