With the oil-based food colorings from Colour Mill, you can achieve perfect, radiant and incredibly intense colors for your cakes, chocolate creations and buttercreams. Thanks to Colour Mill's special oil blend, the color can spread evenly in all high-fat ingredients such as sugar, eggs and butter. This is because all water-based ingredients have been removed and replaced with oil-based alternatives. These oils mix much better than water-based jelly. Unlike traditional gel paints, Colour Mill's Oil Blend paint uses the fats and oils found in your baked goods to distribute the unique color formula. The result is stunningly vibrant, rich and even shades that won't fade. The color is produced using a special micro-milling process to produce color that is both grainy and streak-free.
The colors are particularly suitable for buttercream, Swiss meringue, chocolate, cake batter, ganache and sugar masses. But you can also use them for flower pastes, gumpastes, modeling pastes, marzipan, cake mixes, pastries, icing, isomalt, piping gel, cake icing mixes and much more. While classic gel colors are not suitable for high-fat items such as chocolate.
It is best to measure out your colors with the end of a cocktail stick. You need so little of it that otherwise you will quickly have poured too much paint into the mixture. The bottles are also equipped with a dosing cap. This makes dosing the paint even easier. With the Colour Mill paints, you get a lot of color for your money. Thanks to the high concentration, you need much less paint than with other paint manufacturers. You really only need a tiny drop to produce a brightly colored shade.
It is important that you shake the paint well before use so that everything mixes well. If you then add a few drops of paint to your mixture, you should be patient. The colors develop over time. So if you add a drop, mix the whole thing and then find it is still far too pale, it is better to wait another minute before adding more paint. Otherwise you will end up with a color that is either too strong, the wrong shade or simply have used too much paint unnecessarily. The paint should be stored in a cool and dry place, i.e. protected from sunlight. Please note that the pigments of each color vary in weight. This means that the paint bottles may weigh different amounts. However, all bottles are filled to the brim with paint and the colors all have the same strength.
The Colour Mill paste paints can also be diluted with alcohol. Please note that the colors take longer to dry because of the oil they contain. However, the colors then last all the longer. They are also equipped with a UV and fade-resistant formula. So it doesn't matter if the dyed products are left out in the light, they won't fade so quickly. The colors are also all bakeproof.
