Edible organic marigolds from Switzerland

Our organic marigolds are grown in the Swiss mountains in Graubünden. The flowers are grown by the herb farmer according to strict organic guidelines. The cornflowers are picked by hand during the flowering season and dried in the mountain air. The marigolds are suitable for decorating salads, desserts, chocolate, soups, meat dishes or pasta.

Edible flowers offer great decoration options for all kinds of treats. In addition to their beautiful colors, they offer much more. They do not taste themselves and therefore do not change the taste of the actual product. They are suitable for sweets such as éclairs and pralines, but also for salads and savory treats.

Application - edible flowers

The flowers are completely natural and can be consumed without hesitation. The drying process gives them a long shelf life and a special appearance. They can be used for almost any dish. The petals can simply be sprinkled over or around salads, ravioli or soup.

If you want to create elegant macarons with an original decoration, sprinkle the dressed shells with a few leaves. It looks particularly great if the flowers and the shells are slightly different colors. They hold well in the still sticky dough, which dries and is then baked. Bread can also be decorated in this way. If it doesn't stick so well, simply brush with a little water or egg. However, you should also pay attention to the baking time. Of course, it is possible for the petals to darken, so it is best to put them on small rolls or on large loaves afterwards.

The range of applications for edible flowers is huge; you can also use them for most sweet pastries. You can create beautiful éclairs with a natural touch by sprinkling a few leaves onto the still soft icing. Cakes, cupcakes, cookies, creams and much more can be decorated in a similar way. The dried petals adhere well to sticky mixtures such as buttercream, various types of icing, soft cake icing, toppings and creams.

If you would like to use them for dried icing or treats decorated with fondant, a little edible glue is all you need. Coat the surface with it, sprinkle it on and they will hold.

The edible petals are also perfect for pralines. First, the hollow shells are filled with a melt-in-the-mouth ganache, then sealed with high-quality couverture. A few petals are placed on the still soft couverture and as soon as it has dried, the chocolates are formed and are ready to be given away or enjoyed.
