This cake base is characterized by the coated, grease-resistant cardboard. The sturdy cake base is 1 mm thick and is suitable as a stable base for individual cakes. Both sides of the cake base can be used for presenting cakes. One side has an elegant coated shiny gold finish and the other side has an elegant black finish. The cake base has a diameter of 26 cm and each set contains 50 cake bases. If you are planning a multi-tier cake, the cake bases are also suitable as an intermediate layer for the individual cake tiers, but not as the bottom tier. For the bottom cake tier, we recommend using a cake base with a thickness of 1 cm.

This cake base is characterized by the coated, grease-resistant cardboard. The sturdy cake base is 1 mm thick and is suitable as a stable base for individual cakes. The cake base has a diameter of 26 cm and each set contains 50 cake bases. If you are planning a multi-tier cake, the cake bases are also suitable as an intermediate layer for the individual cake tiers, but not as the bottom layer. For multi-tiered cakes, we recommend using a cake base (for the bottom tier of the cake) with a thickness of 1 cm.


Set the perfect scene for your cake. A suitable cake base is not only important for stabilizing the cake, but the cake base must also match the cake visually. That's why it's important to find the right cake base for your cake. The cake base is made of coated cardboard that is greaseproof. The cake base has two sides and can therefore be used in gold or black, depending on your preference. The cake base stabilizes your cakes and tarts, but is also a pretty presentation surface for muffins, cupcakes, quiches, wafers or other pastries. Cakes are always a highlight, whether for a birthday, anniversary or the supreme discipline: a wedding. There are no limits to your creativity and you certainly have a certain image in your head of what your dream cake should look like. Unfortunately, you often only realize after you have finished making the cake that you have forgotten one important aspect: the cake base! Unfortunately, it is also very difficult to place the cake on a stable base afterwards. That's why you should definitely buy a sturdy cake base in the right size early on and use it straight away.


Simple tricks and high-quality cake bases for the perfect multi-tier cake

This cake base cannot be used to transport multi-tier cakes, but the cake bases are ideal as an intermediate base for the individual cakes. For a stable multi-tiered cake, it is essential to work with cake slices and cake supports between the individual layers. For the bottom cake, you need a cake plate that is about 2 - 5 cm larger than the finished cake that you are placing on top. This will make it easier to transport the finished cake later. It is also important that the cake plate is at least 1 cm thick, as stable transportation is essential for a multi-tiered cake.


Now pour some buttercream, ganache or cream onto the center of the cake plate and "glue" the first cake to the base. You will now need a cake disk and cake stand for the next cake. If you leave these two things out, the cake could collapse in the end. As there are 50 bases in this set, you can also use them as stabilizers between the cake layers. If you use them for this purpose, choose a size that is about 2 cm smaller than your cake so that the cake base is not visible. If you are using the cake base for individual cakes or the bottom cake, make sure that the cake base is about 2 cm larger than the diameter of the cake. This will ensure that the edges stand out nicely and you can transport the cake easily. If your bottom cake has a diameter of e.g. 25 cm and the cake on top has a diameter of e.g. 20 cm, you will need a cake base with a thickness of 1 mm and a diameter of approx. 18 cm. First, place the cake slice in the middle of the bottom cake and press the cake plate down lightly. Make sure you remove it again afterwards. Now you can see exactly where the cake should be placed later. Now you also need cake supports. You will need at least 4 - 5 of these. Insert them into the marked area and cut them to the same height as the cake. For more information on how to use the sticks, see Cake sticks. Then place the 1 mm thick cake base on top and place the second cake on top of the first cake. Please note that the cake supports can only stabilize the second cake if you also place a cake base on top. If you place a cake directly on top, for example, the top cake will press down on the bottom cake despite the cake supports. Repeat this process from cake tier to cake tier.


Now comes the best part: decorating. You can also use the edge of the cake plate for decorating. This way, unsightly cuts in the fondant on the bottom tier of the cake can be concealed. The possibilities are endless. You can model figures with fondant, apply pretty buttercream flowers directly at the transition from cake to plate with buttercream or simply tie a cake ribbon around the cake on the cake base. Try out what you like! If your cakes are very heavy, we recommend using our thicker cake plates or cake bases. This way you are on the safe side and your cake will arrive safely at its destination. 


Sturdy cake bases made from high-quality cardboard

The cake bases are made of food-safe cardboard and are covered with a sturdy gold foil on one side and a black foil on the other. Thanks to the foil, the surface does not soften and keeps the cake looking fresh for a long time. Despite the reliable surface, you should not reuse the underlay as the cake bases can never be completely cleaned.
