This prevents the cream or the base of the cake from breaking or the cake from falling apart when you move it. The base is neutral white and has a diameter of 20 cm. This set contains 10 cake slices, which you can also cut to the perfect size. These cake slices are of real professional quality and are very sturdy for cake slices at around 0.8 mm. The cake slice should always be 2 cm smaller than the diameter of the cake so that the cake slice cannot be seen. One side of the cake slice is white and coated (greaseproof) and the reverse side is made of normal food-safe cardboard.

The cake disks make baking easier. They can be used together with a cake ring and serve as a base for lifting the cake using a spatula. A cake disk with a diameter approx. 2 cm smaller than the inserted cake ring and the cake itself is used for this purpose. The cake base prevents the sponge cake from breaking when it is lifted. The cake stands provide stability when working and also make it easier to spread the edge of the cake or add sprinkles, brittle or decorations to a cream cake. The round cake discs are fat-repellent and are a practical tool in the kitchen for one-off use.

If you want to decorate the edge of the cake with sprinkles, brittle or chocolate flakes, proceed as follows. Coat the edge with a slightly sticky substance, this can be whipped cream, buttercream, chocolate or the filling itself. Then carefully run a spatula between the base (e.g. kitchen cover or cake turntable) and the cake slice. Now lift the cake at an angle, just enough to be able to slide your hand into the cake base without touching the bottom edge of the cake. Now move the spatula to the other side and lift this up too. This allows you to lift your cake and place it on your hand without damaging the edge.
As soon as you can hold the cake firmly in one hand, use the other hand to take flaked almonds, hazelnut brittle, chocolate sprinkles or another decoration material of your choice and press it against the edge of your cake from the bottom upwards with the flat of your hand. Turn it a little and decorate the entire edge. As before, you can set the cake down with the spatula.

Sturdy cake slices of the highest quality

The cake slices are made of food-safe cardboard and are greaseproof. The miniSchoggi cake slices are also thicker than other cake slices, because the additional stability makes the work much easier and only with a solid cake slice can the perfect cake be made. Despite the reliable surface, you should not reuse the cake slices as they cannot be cleaned.

What size cake slice do I need?

The cake slice should always be about 2 cm smaller than the diameter of the cake so that the cake slice cannot be seen. The cake slice serves as a kind of hidden base when making the cake. Therefore, if you want to make a cake with a diameter of 20 cm, you will need a cake slice with a diameter of 18 cm (20 cm - 2 cm = 18 cm).
