The success story began in France, back then with wine and spirits. The young Georges Monin entered the alcohol business and made an early effort to achieve the best quality. This paid off and as early as 1924 he was able to produce his first liqueurs in the "Distillerie à Vapeur et Fabrique de Liquers Surfines et extra-fines". Over the next few years, he made a name for himself with his excellent liqueurs and the first syrup varieties. The business was a huge success, so he had over 10ˋ000 customers a month who shopped and ordered from his shop. Instead of taking a rest, Georges decided to expand his production even further. He invested in the construction of a large distillery and soon began selling high-quality brandy.
in 1944, the capable businessman passed away, but his son Paul Monin demonstrated a similar entrepreneurial spirit and took over the business. With the help of his father's experienced workers, he quickly learned what was important for such a successful business. In order to simplify production and transport, the various locations of the distillery and several production sites were merged. In addition, three divisions were created: the wine trade, the distillery and the trade in fruit juices and syrups.
As with his father, Paul Monin put the quality of the products first. Throughout his life, he travelled around looking for the best growing areas and varieties for the raw materials of his products, in addition to devising various new processes. The effort paid off, especially his high-quality and flavour-intensive Kirsch and the fruit juice concentrates, which could be more diluted than any others on the market, made him famous not only in France but also abroad.
With the great success in these areas, Paul decided to give up the wine trade and instead prefer to concentrate on the other two areas. Monin became more and more well-known, in France people appreciated the brand for its good quality and abroad the company's liqueur was also extremely popular.
To strengthen this image even more, Olivier Monin took care of the expansion of the sales and communication network after he took over the business. Research was also pushed further and further and more and more products with the Monin seal came onto the market. The natural syrups and high-quality alcoholic beverages are known all over the world, and the company even built its own production facility in the USA.
Today, Monin is still one of the leading brands when it comes to syrup and alcohol. Currently, their range includes over 80 different syrups, various fruit purees, liqueurs, liquid topping sauces and drink mixes. The products are particularly interesting for bars, cafés and restaurants, because they can be used to refine cocktails, drinks, coffee and much more. But also when it comes to desserts, the syrups from Monin are a huge help. The syrups serve as a flavouring, and due to their high concentration, you only need a little liquid, which makes it easier to make stable creams and aromatic sponge cakes, for example.
We especially like to use the syrup for cake fillings, small pâtisserie or even for a delicious praline filling. The syrup can also be used to soak the sponge or to flavour a fresh coffee or cocoa. Unlike many other flavours, the syrups from Monin do not taste the least bit artificial.
