In Upper Swabia, a production hall and an exhibition centre are located in a small, idyllic village. These belong to Karl-Heinz Häussler GmbH, which started building in 2000. in 2006, everything was ready, production was underway and the exhibition centre was opened as a "baking village".

The company's history began even earlier, in 1949, when Karl and Rosa Häussler opened a small forge workshop. Metal equipment and tools were made there and horses were fitted with new horseshoes. "Grandpa", as Karl Häussler was affectionately called back then, worked diligently in the village blacksmith's shop and was pleased to see his son join the business in 1967. Karl-Heinz also brought his own ideas and began to expand the blacksmith's shop into a specialist agricultural machinery business. After a few years, he took over the business and started another product line. Adelinde Häussler, his wife, had the idea to produce baking ovens. A great idea with a lot of success, so it happened that only 19 years later the agricultural machinery business was spun off and Häussler concentrated entirely on baking.

So then the baking village and the new production facility were built, all in Heiligkreuztal, where the company headquarters are still located today. A move away from the peaceful village is not intended at present. Instead, they want to further strengthen the village and enjoy the idyll of the small village, the monastery and the surrounding nature. To ensure that this continues to be well preserved, the company strives for environmentally friendly production and the support of nature-preserving measures.

In addition to internal efforts, for example to reduce paper consumption or energy-saving measures, other projects are also supported. A special example of this is a campaign by the trainees at Karl-Heinz Häussler GmbH. As part of a school project, they were allowed to think up and implement a measure to protect the environment. So it happened that on a cool morning, the trainees and a specialist stood ready in a marked forest area and began to dig holes at regular intervals. These were then planted with young trees and dug shut. With a lot of verve and joy, the agreed target was even surpassed and by the end of the day, over 1200 trees had been planted. With this project, the trainees supported nature and at the same time dealt with an important raw material of the company.

Today, the main responsibility for the business lies with Rosemarie and Richard, the two children of Karl-Heinz and Adelinde. More than 120 people are employed and, as mentioned, many young people are also allowed to complete their training there. But they are not the only ones who can learn something at Karl-Heinz Häussler GmbH. In the baking village, everyone from beginners to professionals can still learn something about baking.

In the exhibition centre, a wide variety of courses and seminars are held, and the use of the various equipment at Karl-Heinz Häussler GmbH is also demonstrated. One of the specialities here is certainly the wood-burning ovens. Different models offer something for every baking enthusiast. The use of the ovens is demonstrated on site and if you are interested, you can also try it out yourself at a course.

Of course, baking also involves various ingredients, first and foremost flour. If you want to grind your own flour from grains, a grain mill is an indispensable tool. With a small mill, you can grind grain in your own kitchen, so you always have fresh flour available. Another advantage is the degree of grinding. Whether coarse meal or fine flour, with a grain mill the desired ingredient is produced in no time at all.

In addition to grain mills, we also have kitchen machines from Karl-Heinz Häussler GmbH in our range. These are of professional quality and, in addition to being used for soft masses, are also excellent for bread doughs of all kinds. Here you can see wonderfully how tradition and the latest technology are combined. The artisan creation of food from high-quality and healthy ingredients meets the technical innovations in the bakery.

Besides bread, pasta production is also one of the company's specialities. Many of the ingredients can be used for both bread and pasta doughs. With wild garlic, tomato, spinach, porcini mushroom or beetroot powder, the treats can be given a delicious aroma and a beautiful colour. Extraordinary creations can also be conjured up with red lentil and chickpea flour. Sepia ink is more suitable for black pasta, while baker's malt, yeast and various sourdough powders and starters are used in breads. So there is something for every creation!
