Home Fashion produces various great table decorations made of paper. We were particularly taken with the beautifully patterned or elegantly embossed napkins. As part of Carl Dietrich GmbH, Home Fashion can draw on many years of experience and the latest manufacturing methods. Carl Dietrich GmbH was founded in 1870. Today, new designs are constantly being applied to napkins and other decorative items using the latest technology and sold throughout the company.

Special attention is paid to sustainability. As disposable products, paper napkins are in themselves rather harmful to nature. However, the material as well as the manufacturing process offer excellent conditions for a business without ecological disadvantages.

The napkins from Home Fashion are made from FSC-certified material. This tissue material comes exclusively from the EU. It is always 100% oxygen-bleached cellulose, no synthetic fibres are used. This is how single-colour napkins are first produced, which are then provided with patterns, embossing or die-cut patterns. When it comes to inks, Home Fashion also attaches great importance to sustainability and the avoidance of harmless substances. Thus, only water-based printing inks are used, and no bleaching agents or dyes that are harmful to health are used.

In production, too, the company strives to work in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The energy generation is particularly impressive here. A lot of electricity is needed to power all the machines in the factory. Most of this is produced by the company's own turbines. The energy is generated with large water turbines and consumed again directly in the factory.

Through its many commitments to the environment, Home Fashion has also achieved Nordic Ecolabel certification. So with these napkins you have an environmentally friendly and at the same time noble or sweet decoration.

The patterned napkins are most beautiful when simply placed on the plates or next to them. That way, the picture on them is clearly visible. With plain or patterned napkins, you are also welcome to be creative and practise your folding skills.

A very simple but elegant decoration is the pleated napkin. To do this, lay the napkin down so that the tip with the open layers is facing downwards, the top left side should be closed. Now fold the right side once onto the left side and unfold it again. The top two layers of the lower tip are then folded back and forth like a concertina. To do this, fold the lace about one centimetre to one side, then hold the two layers on top of each other and fold to the other side. Repeat this process, keeping the tip visible at all times. Once the accordion has continued to the napkin surface, it is pressed down well and the whole thing is turned so that the folds are under the napkin. Now the napkin is folded diagonally again, as at the beginning, so that the pleat is nicely visible. It just needs to be unfolded slightly and placed on the table for decoration.

A similar decoration is the peacock wheel, but this can be set up completely. To do this, lay the napkin down so that the top with four open layers is facing upwards and the side at the bottom right is closed.

Now the upper half of the left side is folded towards the centre, as with the pleated napkin. The napkin is then turned again without being turned, so the folds continue to run vertically on the underside. Then fold the bottom half of the napkin upwards to form a triangle. This is now swept once, set up, the tips on the sides are brought together behind it and pinned into each other. Now the fan can be opened completely at the front and draped beautifully. The peacock wheel is ready!
