Today, Folia stands for a large and successful company. When it was founded in 1965, things looked different. At that time, Folia was merely a brand belonging to Max Bringmann AG. This was a small family business, with just three people working in the company. At that time, the product range consisted of various articles made of aluminium foil. Four years after the company was founded, new premises were needed and so the company moved. The product range was also expanded and in 1981 the company's own printing shop was put into operation. More and more articles were produced directly on site and production was further expanded. With Alexander, Markus and Michael, the sons of the founder also joined the company and thus ensured the continuation of the family business.

Due to the steady growth, the company had to expand again in 1997. A large new building in Nuremberg offered sufficient storage and production space as well as plenty of room for offices. But even after this expansion, the company continued to expand and restructure to meet demand.

In 2000, Folia was one of the winners of the Bavaria's Best 50 competition, which honoured the fastest-growing companies in Bavaria.

Today, the products of Folia are also sold internationally. Not only creative ideas and great designs are responsible for this success, but also the commitment to environmental protection and many certifications play an important role. These include, for example, ISO 9001, regular checks on the safety of ingredients and membership of the BSCI. Thus, Folia strives for social, environmental and quality aspects.

Year after year, the teams at Folia create new designs and adapt their products to the latest trends. For example, you can find several different Advent calendar sets here. The individual bags are filled, closed and hung up or placed as you wish. You can also prepare small boxes and number them with Advent calendar stickers or buttons.

We are also very fond of the packaging from Folia. Different patterns and colours make for a sweet variety. The cupcake boxes are also designed in such a way that the beautifully decorated treats have enough space and are shown off to their best advantage. Once the boxes are folded, there's only one thing missing: the filling!

Gift cupcakes

140g couverture

120g butter

120g egg white

20g ground hazelnuts

60g ground almonds

190g sugar

50g white flour

Put the couverture and the butter in a bowl and melt them slowly over a water bath. Then add the egg whites and mix until you have a homogeneous mixture. Now mix the remaining ingredients, add them and fold them in with a rubber scraper.

Divide the batter between twelve cupcake cases, ideally place them in a cupcake baking tray beforehand. Bake the muffins for about 18 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius.

Once the little cakes have cooled, you can decorate them beautifully. For example, a light cream cheese frosting, a little chocolate ganache or some fruity buttercream goes well with the chocolatey dough. The pressed-on rosette can also be decorated with sprinkled decorations, small fondant decorations or glitter powder. If you want to create a special little gift, you can conjure up a great decoration with just a little fondant.

Always knead the fondant a little before using it. It should be nice and smooth, but not sticky. Roll out white fondant on some baker's starch and cut out a circle that is just a few millimetres larger than the cupcake. Coat the cupcake with some egg white icing. You can also use a chocolate ganache and give the cupcake a sweet centre before frosting. To do this, use the cupcake corer, fill the hole with ganache, then put the lid back on and spread the cupcake with the ganache. Then stick the white fondant in the middle and press it on the edge.

Then roll out a second colour of fondant. Use the loop cutter set to cut out all the required pieces straight away, but it is also possible to use a knife. Cut out two rectangles of about 1.5 x 6 cm. The size depends on the desired size of the bow and can be varied individually. All corners are then cut diagonally. The two now slightly pointed ends of each piece are then pressed together and the two bow pieces are glued together with the pressed side. Now you have the first part of a bow in front of you.

Cut two 1 to 1.5 cm wide strips, the length roughly equal to the diameter of the cupcake. Glue them at right angles to each other on the white-covered cupcake. Place another 1 x 2-3 cm piece of the same colour over the centre of the bow, gluing the ends together underneath. Two 1 to 1.5 cm wide pieces can be cut to any length. At one end you can cut the rectangle diagonally, tapered or like a snake's tongue. Glue the other end to the centre of the cupcake and add the bow. Now you have a finished little cupcake parcel!

Of course, you can decorate it further with small fondant flowers, egg white icing patterns and dots or some glitter to give the gift that certain something.

Now fold up a cupcake box from Folia, depending on the size of the gift, a one or four cupcake box. Place the cupcakes inside and fold down the lid. Add a ribbon and the gift for your loved ones is ready!
