Are you looking for a simple but great decoration for a wedding, a baby shower or a birthday party? Then Cake Star is the right place for you. All you have to do is insert a cake topper into the finished cake and it's perfectly decorated. Cake Star also provides a bright decoration, so all the lettering and motifs are studded with glitter or diamond-look stones. You are sure to find the right shape here. For a wedding there is the Love or Hearts cake topper, at the baby party a cake with the baby lettering fits perfectly.

A large Happy Birthday can be easily inserted into the birthday cake. In addition to a sweet congratulations, there are also the number toppers. Studded from top to bottom with glitter stones, the numbers really shine. A few small candles in front of or around the numbers add a special sparkle.

Of course, the individual numbers are also suitable for many other occasions. Putting them together always results in the right number, whether age, year or date. In the twinkling of an eye, the cake for the New Year's party is decorated, the dessert for the farewell party at the pension is ready and the company anniversary can be celebrated in a fitting manner. With Cake Star you have the right thing for every occasion.

In addition to the easy-to-apply toppers, Cake Star also offers help for making your own lettering or creating other decorations. The cutters are equipped with ejectors so that even small motifs can be removed easily and without damage.

With upper and lower case letters in different sizes or pretty flowers, you can create a cute decoration in no time at all! For a children's birthday party, for example, you can make a fondant cake with a homemade pennant line on the side.

First, prepare the cake and cover it with fondant. Cool the cake well and make a chocolate ganache or buttercream. You will need this to coat the cake so that no watery filling comes into contact with the coating, otherwise it will dissolve.

Once the cake is nice and smooth, roll out the fondant. Of course, you can also use marzipan if the birthday boy or girl likes it better. Take enough of the chosen mixture and knead it a little. Then roll it out to a nice round shape using baker's starch, twisting it a little at a time so that it becomes even and doesn't stick anywhere.
With a thickness of about 3-4 mm, the cover is then lifted over the cake and carefully placed on top. Use the flat of your hand or a fondant smoother to smooth everything out nicely. On the side, use one hand to pull the cover slightly outwards, and the other hand to smooth the fondant against the cake from top to bottom. In this way, the edge is finally nice and smooth, and at the bottom, a kind of protruding skirt is created around the cake from the overhanging remnant. Cut this off at an angle with a fondant cutter or a sharp knife and press it slightly under the edge so that the cut edge is no longer visible.

Now make the little flags. Again, take a little fondant or marzipan and roll it out thinly on some baker's starch. If you have a suitable cookie cutter, use it. Otherwise, you can also cut out high isosceles triangles with a sharp, non-serrated knife or a fondant cutter. The two equal sides are about one and a half times as long as the single side. It looks especially great if you use different colours and stick them on alternately.

For some of the flags you will need letters. Roll out a light-coloured fondant and cut out the necessary letters with the letter set from Cake Star. It's up to you whether you want to use upper case letters, lower case letters or both. Depending on the size of the bunting, you may need the mini sets or the large ones, but usually the smaller ones are enough. You are free to choose the inscription. For example, write "All the best", a name, "Happy Birthday" or for any other occasion the appropriate saying or congratulations with the letters. To do this, press the letter cutter firmly into the thin fondant, lift it away and simply remove the letter with the ejector.

Once everything is cut out, place the flags in the order in which they will be glued on afterwards. Use a little edible glue to stick the letters onto the flags in the right place, so that the short side is at the top and the top is at the bottom.

Next, mark on the cake where the flags will go. You can use the garland embossing set, an adjustable cake ring or simply mark by hand. Using your preferred method, press a fine and rather flat semicircle into the fondant in the upper third of the edge.
If you want the bunting line to go all the way around the cake, repeat this process. To make it rise nicely, you may have to cheat a little at the end and adjust the semicircle size slightly. You can also make every other semicircle a little bigger or smaller, so it is even less noticeable. Then glue the flags in order with the short edge along the line with some edible glue. If you cut two half circles, they would overlap slightly. If you don't want this, leave out one or two flags in each corner.

Once all the pennants are glued on, the line is still missing. You can shape it out of some fondant and glue it on as well or apply it with icing. To do this, mix an egg white icing, which is particularly easy to do with the Royal Icing Mix. The icing is then applied with a very fine hole icing nozzle as a line or small dots directly above the bunting and along the semicircle in the corners.

This way the pennant line is already finished and only something small is missing for on top. For example, a large fondant mesh that makes the cake look like a present, a modelled figurine or a crown or simply some beautiful fondant flowers are suitable for this. These can be made with the cutters from Cake Star or various other cutters and embossers. If you don't have the right one yet, you can find a large selection of different decorating tools in our shop.
This way, the perfect individual cake is decorated in no time at all!
