Delicious vanilla chocolate madeleines

These small biscuits are ideal as tea or coffee biscuits. They are quick and easy to make and look really cute with their shell shape. Originally from France, these biscuits are now popular all over the world and can be found in many variations and flavours. However, these little pastry shells are often far too dry and don't have the consistency they should have. That's why we're sharing our personal madeleine recipe with you now! This recipe is absolutely sure-fire, delicious and anything but dry. We've also added crunchy chocolate drops, because what would life be without chocolate?

Be sure to try the recipe and let us know what you think.

Degree of difficulty:

1/5

Durability:

1 week

Madeleines

Ingredients for 12 pieces

80 g whole egg

65 g sugar

20 g honey

30 g whole milk

50 g baking chocolate drops

100 g white flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of vanilla

100 g melted butter

This is how it works: The production

  • Beat the whole egg and sugar in a bowl using a food processor or mixer.
  • Then add the milk and honey and mix the ingredients well.
  • Then add the flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt to the mixture. Mix this thoroughly too.
  • While you are mixing the mixture, you can pour the melted butter into the bowl.
  • Last but not least, you can optionally incorporate baking-safe chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Now leave the dough to rest in the fridge for approx. 30 minutes, heat the oven to 200 °C fan oven and grease and flour the madeleine baking tin.
  • When the time is up, you can take your dough out of the fridge and pour it into a piping bag. Then pipe the mixture into the baking tin.
  • Make sure you turn the oven down to 160 °C before you put the baking tin in so that the pastries don't burn!
  • Bake the madeleines in the oven for 10 minutes at 160 °C fan oven.
  • Finally, you can sprinkle the pastries with icing sugar and your madeleines are ready - bon appétit!
