Aperitif nuts - beware of addiction!

Everyone knows salted nuts as a snack between meals or nuts with paprika or wasabi. Today we're showing you our delicious, highly addictive aperitif nuts. This delicious, savoury snack will create a real umami explosion in your mouth. We therefore recommend that you make double the recipe so that you really have enough. These nuts also make an excellent gift and hostess present. You can also add other nuts and seeds here or substitute those that don't suit your taste. The best way to enjoy this snack is on the sofa in the evening with a glass of wine and some fine cheese. But these nuts are also an absolute delight on their own.

As always, you can download the recipe at the end of this article. Make at your own risk.

Most important key data

Quantity: approx. 350 g

Baking time: approx. 14-16 minutes

Baking temperature: 160 ºC fan oven

Difficulty level: Easy

Shelf life: 1 month

Roasted nuts Ingredients

Cane sugar35 g
Fleur de Sel6 g
Water15 g
Olive oil10 g
Curry | mild5 g
Chilli powder2 msp.
Cashews120 g
Almonds100 g
Pumpkin seeds30 g
Sunflower seeds30 g

Production of the aperitif nuts

Preheat the oven to 160 ºC fan.

Put all the ingredients except the nuts and seeds in a pan, heat them up and stir well. Once the mixture has come to the boil, you can now add the nut and seed mixture.

Now mix everything together well. Initially, everything will only be covered with a thin layer, but the syrup will thicken a little after 2-3 minutes of gentle simmering and a thicker layer will form around the nut mixture.

Once this has been achieved, place the coated seeds on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread them out so that they are not on top of each other and bake the snack for approx. 14 minutes in an oven preheated to 160 ºC fan.

Once they have cooled, you will need to break them apart again a little, as the nuts will stick together due to the sugar. It is best to store them in an airtight container.

Storage & shelf life

You should always store the aperitif nuts in a dry place in an airtight container, otherwise they will absorb moisture and no longer be as crunchy.
