Cheese sticks - simple, crispy, delicious!

Who doesn't love them? The crispy, wonderfully fragrant cheese sticks. Ideal for an aperitif, a cosy film evening at home, as a homemade gift or simply as a snack between meals. We'll show you how to make these delicious puff pastries yourself, using just three ingredients. Preparation is extremely quick and easy!

The best thing about these delicious pastries is that you can easily customise them to suit your taste! If you don't like Parmesan cheese, use Gruyère! Prefer it hot and spicy? Then sprinkle a few chilli flakes on top. You can also spread the puff pastry with a pesto or some tomato sauce beforehand - there are no limits to your imagination.

Ingredients

Puff pastry200 g
Parmesan cheese40 g
Salt & pepper
Egg wash (whisked egg)

And this is how it works:

Roll out the puff pastry to 24 x 30 cm and brush with egg wash. Now sprinkle the Parmesan over the pastry and season with salt and pepper.

Using a pastry cutter, cut into strips approx. 1.5 cm thick and twist.

Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and spray with egg or simply apply with a brush.

Bake at 200 °C fan oven for 12 minutes. An ideal aperitif with a fine glass of wine.

Storage & shelf life

The cheese sticks can be kept for approx. 1 week in airtight packaging. They simply become drier and drier over time. They are therefore best fresh. You can also prepare them in advance, freeze them unbaked and then bake them fresh when company comes round.
